A Deeper Look at the Fair and Its Artisans
The Italian Independent Winegrowers Fair is an initiative of the FIVI (Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers), a non-profit organization that champions the cause of small, family-run estates. These are winegrowers who personally manage the entire production cycle, from tending the vineyards to bottling and selling their wine. They are committed to sustainable and ethical practices, preserving Italy’s rich winemaking heritage and its wealth of native grape varieties.
This year’s event will also feature the stunning official poster created by Bolognese illustrator Sarah Mazzetti, thanks to a renewed collaboration with Corraini Edizioni. Mazzetti, an internationally acclaimed artist, explains her inspiration: “For the illustration of the Market poster, I started from the work around the grapes and vineyards… I thought it was important to keep the natural environment and the wine together.” Her artwork beautifully depicts grapes surrounded by beneficial fauna like the hoopoe, the wryneck, the shrike, and butterflies, celebrating the harmony of a naturalized vineyard.
